The Story of Heart of Stone

The Feltman family moved into their antique (circa 1750) Cape Cod style house in the heart of Sandwich Village in August, 1989.  Setting up shop in the shed of their home, Angela set about raising her family and growing Heart of Stone, the family business, designing stone and pearl jewelry, and selling mineral, fossil and gem stones along with her creations at local and regional craft fairs.

In 1997, she moved the business out of the shed and into her first retail outlet, and expanded again into the current location in 2001.    Today, Heart of Stone is one of Sandwich's favorite gift shops,  with a fascinating selection of up-and-coming designer jewelry, an ever changing array of fashion accessories, gifts, home decor, cards, candles, chimes, fossil and mineral specimens, books, bells, whistles and the occasional boomerang.

The Story of Cape Cod Colors

Cape Cod Colors Original Town Jewelry was designed by Angela Feltman at Heart of Stone, and is handcrafted in her shop in Sandwich Village, the oldest town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  Angela and her staff create a suite of jewelry that celebrates and contributes to every individual Cape Cod town, and the islands of  Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

In 2004, Angela saw "theme" jewelry popping up piecemeal around the Cape.  She wanted to offer a cohesive, distinctive design to all Cape towns, all at once, that would combine quality, symmetry, originality, wearable, affordability and value.  Crafted in Sterling Silver, 14kt Gold and  genuine semi-precious gemstones, Cape Cod Colors offers you the opportunity to wear or give a beautiful piece of quality jewelry at a great value that lets you proudly "Show The World Where Your Heart Calls Home."

How Did Each Town Get This Color?  Angela's idea to choose a town's gemstone by matching it to the town's High School colors proved to be so universally popular that other designers began to immediately use the concept in their works, too  In towns where students attend regional high schools, gemstones were chosen for other town attributes - a romance card is included with every piece of jewelry that explains the gemstone's significance for your town and the metaphysical folklore associated with each gem.

How does Cape Cod Colors Donate to Each Town?  Grateful for the opportunity to raise her family and grow her business on Cape Cod, Angela designed this jewelry as a fundraiser for Fine and Performing Arts programs in Cape Cod  public High Schools. Every purchase results in a $2.00 donation to the high school program designated by the gemstone you choose.

In less than a year, the demand for Cape Cod Colors rocketed beyond expectations to become the most visible and desired "must-have"  Town Jewelry in Massachusetts,  and tens of thousands of dollars have been donated to Massachusetts  High Schools.

Cape Cod Colors has expanded it's offerings to include other jewelry, like the Cape Cod Classics lines, the Mermaids Moon Pearl Jewelry, the Banglelicious Birthstones, and of course, the wildly popular Cape Cod Colors Sea Glass Collection.  Today, Cape Cod Colors jewelry has it's own production and distribution offices, and is sold in over 150 stores throughout New England.

Cape Cod Colors has also been approached by other organizations throughout New England to create fundraising or signature jewelry.  Among these are the New Bedford Whaling Museum, The Big Brothers and Big Sisters Association of Rhode Island, The Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, the Louisa May Allcott Museum and the Portland Head Light, along with awareness lines for various local groups raising funds and awareness for different causes.
