I have been dreaming of running my own business my entire life.  My first business was a bookstore on the front porch of my house when I was a kid, selling and trading books to all my neighborhood friends.  While other kids were playing with dolls, I was playing “cash register” at the kitchen island.  I went to business school in Maine and have worked in retail on the Cape for over 15 years.  I love all things business from organization and planning to accounting and purchasing.  While business and numbers suit my Type A personality, I do love designing and creating just as much.  I have been making handmade cards and papercrafts for more than 20 years.

I grew up in northern Maine and graduated from USM.  My first year in college I spent a summer working on Cape Cod.  That summer I fell in love and haven't left the Cape since (classic story, right?).  Growing up, my parents owned a small jewelry and gift store.  So, I guess you could say I am going into the family business!  To this day my father continues to work on watches, clocks, and jewelry repair for local Cape Cod jewelry stores.  You may even find him visiting Heart of Stone from time to time.  Today I am married to my Cape Cod summer love, Jeff and have 2 young active boys, Jacob and William, who keep us very busy.

In addition to being a wife and mom, I love papercrafts, the Red Sox, Maine, crime shows, a day at the canal, and a weekend watching Hallmark.  Fourth of July is my favorite holiday and I've been known to cry at a good parade.  I absolutely have an obsession for paper and will buy anything with polka dots on it.

As a child, you’d usually find me with my nose in a book, or with a pencil, drawing on any random piece of paper I could find.  I loved reading fairy tales and fantasy (ok, I still do), and those stories provided so much inspiration for my art.  After graduating from UMASS Dartmouth (BFA/Illustration), I got a job in Boston working in animation.  Yup, I got to draw cartoons for a living (and still do occasionally).

But I missed the Cape Cod vibe and moved back.

Since being back, I’ve worked in all sorts of places, developing my skills and learning so much along the way.

I’ve done product design (clothing, mugs, stationary,

EVERYTHING really), created logos, painted murals, taught art and technology, and showed my work in galleries and shows.

I’ll definitely be hanging some work at the store too.

Now it’s time to bring all that artsy-ness to the customers!

When I’m not at the store, you can usually find me at home with my twin daughter and son, my cats (crazy cat lady here) or basking in the sun at the canal.

I love Disney, warm weather, and I celebrate Halloween year-round.
